If you have one or more of these repetitive patterns, I encourage you to seek a trauma-informed provider like me to help you overcome it.

How is a trauma-informed life coach or therapist different from others? In one word: training.

But, this is not any training – at least for me. My training was deep, complex, and crafted over the years to help you develop THE most essential skill to help you take life and relationships to a new level!

Which skill?
I am glad you asked!
The complex skill of feeling safe – or safer.

It has to do with:

Feeling safe within the coaching and therapy process,
Feeling safe while navigating changes and uncertainty towards your goals,
And most importantly, feeling safe within yourself while you take appropriate actions that will feel uncomfortable but will lead you to your goal.
When we are stuck in certain behaviors and emotions, it often has to do with emotional wounds (or trauma) that unconsciously affect our perception, choices, actions and inaction.

Procrastination, resistance to change, conflict avoidance, guilt, shame, fear, lack of persistence, and repetitive “poor choices” can be unconscious scripts to keep us safe from the changes we want to make. This happens even when the changes we want seem logically better for us.

This kind of “stuckness” that comes from a deeper aspect of us will not shift much with standard coaching techniques like writing a vision, making an action plan, accountability checks, and affirmations.

These strategies may give an initial jump start, but they will not be sustainable if there is no profound and conscious emotional reorganization regarding feeling safe within yourself.

If you have big goals that have been hard to achieve in your personal or professional life, or if you want to go above and beyond your current reality, feeling safe within yourself is THE most important skill you need to develop. And that is THE most important skill that a coach can teach you, and this is a skill that a trauma-informed provider can bring into the work with you.

Most coaches – and therapists – are unaware of how to support clients develop this “feeling safe” skill. Feeling safe within yourself is complex because you need to “override” old emotional and behavioral programs. This is not easy because those programs have served you so far but are now keeping you small or even hurting.

For example, perhaps you have the program that working hard and sacrificing yourself for work or relationships is the way to success in those areas. However, your physical and mental health are now hurting because of an excessive attitude of self-sacrifice. You logically know you need to set healthier boundaries, for example, but you can’t do it effectively. A significant part of the reason you remain stuck in that unhealthy pattern is that you probably hold an unconscious belief or fear that, if you do, you will lose love, recognition, appreciation, stability, or security.

To change this program that will keep hurting you, besides being more aware of it, you need to learn how to feel safer when you experiment with new ways of being and acting – such as setting boundaries – that will lead you to healthier relationships. That is what a trauma-informed provider can do for you.

As a Spiritual Life Coach with an experience as a licensed therapist working with complex trauma, I bring a set of skills that not every life coach can have. In my role as coach, I will not dig into the past and process trauma, but I will consider that trauma-informed approach and help you learn to feel safe within yourself to create the changes you want.

I will help you feel seen, validated, and safe to express yourself and experiment with new ways of being and acting more conducive to achieving your goals.

I will help you rewrite the old scripts that are keeping you stuck. I will help you write new and more empowering scripts, so you can create the career, relationships and life that your heart is yearning for.
